Building Relationships, Not Just Connections

I’ve always felt that building relationships is the most important aspect of building a business. There is power in building relationships with people.

When you create connections based on shared interests and goals, you’ll be more successful at your job, and that’s because people want to work with people they know and like.

What I’m I talking about?

Build a connection not just with people that follow you online, but do it offline.

You see, what I’ve realized is that people are smart. They’ll figure out whether or not you actually have a business, or whether or not you’re really just toying around with entrepreneurship.

What I’ve learned over the years of building a business, is it’s much more fruitful to build it with the people that you build a connection, and a friendship with.

Cause at the end of the day, if you want to build a business where people are referring people to you, you’ve got to build an investment in people. And yes, that takes work!

Over the last few years, I’ve built a much, much deeper connection and relationship with my business partners, our associates, by simply having weekly conference calls, devoting ourselves to weekly workshops, devoting ourselves to co-hosting two conferences across the country, all the while traveling the world too. And all of this is voluntary.

Not only do we get to talk shop along the way, but we find ways to challenge each other, to raise each others’ games, and in some instances, even create rivalries. Business is a great magnifier of how you have invested into relationships, not just connections.

Which makes me curious, do you have any stories about how the power of connections have helped you in your own career? If so please share your experiences on my YouTube Channel and let’s keep the conversation going. As we say, there is power in the pack.
